Privacy policy

Quickleee ("we", "the app") is a speed reading trainer. This page explains what data the web app collects, where it is stored, who else can see it, and how to have it removed. It describes the product as it actually works — not a generic template.

Guests are anonymous accounts, not anonymous visitors

You can read without creating an account. The first time you open the app, we call Supabase's signInAnonymously() and issue you a real, randomly generated user id. That id — not your name, email, or any identity you've given us — is what every row described below is attached to. If you later add an email or a Google sign-in, the same id is kept; nothing is copied or migrated, an identity is just attached to the account you already had.

What we collect

  • Account identifier. A UUID assigned by Supabase Auth. For a guest this is the only thing that identifies you. If you sign in with email or Google, we additionally hold the email address and display name you provide.
  • Reading sessions. Which passage you read, how long you spent, and how far you got, so your progress and history can be shown back to you and so the reader can resume where you left off.
  • Quiz attempts and scores. The comprehension score from each quiz you complete, and whether that attempt moved your reading-speed ladder. We do not record which individual answer options you selected beyond what is needed to compute the score.
  • Settings. Your theme, font, chunking preference, and current earned words-per-minute value, so the app looks and behaves the same way across visits.
  • Imported text, if you use the import feature in a later version of the app: the content you paste or upload, stored under your account so you can read it again.

We do not collect payment information on the web: there is no web checkout anywhere in this product. We do not run any analytics or tracking script beyond what is described under Advertising below.

Where it is stored

All of the above lives in our Supabase project (Postgres, with row-level security policies that restrict every table to the row's own owner). We do not operate a separate analytics warehouse or CRM. Access to the underlying database is limited to the people who maintain this app.

Advertising

The free, ad-supported web version of Quickleee shows ads served by Google AdSense. AdSense may set its own cookies and use device or browser information to select and measure ads; that processing is governed by Google's own policy, not by us directly — we do not pass AdSense anything beyond the standard integration a website makes when it embeds an ad slot. No other third party receives your data in this phase of the product. Premium removes ads entirely and is purchased inside the Android app, never on the web.

How long we keep it

An anonymous guest account with no reading history is deleted automatically 30 days after creation by a nightly scheduled job. An anonymous account that has read at least one passage is kept indefinitely, because at that point it holds real reading history rather than an empty, abandoned sign-in — deleting it would be the one loss of progress we consider unacceptable to do silently. Signed-in accounts (email or Google) are kept until you ask us to delete them.

Your choices

  • Read as a guest and never provide an email or name at all.
  • Ask us to delete your account and every row attached to it, at any time.
  • Export or ask about the data attached to your account.

To request deletion or export, email privacy@tachyread.com from the address on the account, or, for a guest account, from any address and describe the device and approximate date you started using the app so we can locate the right row. We aim to act on deletion requests within 30 days.

Children

Quickleee is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If what we collect changes — for example, when the import feature or account sync ships — this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
